Foundation is the one beauty product I’ve always been fickle about. I feel like I’m always on the hunt for the perfect formula. Today I want to share with you the formulas that work for me.
Some background on my preferences: I have dry to normal skin, and I like to glow. I don’t love super full coverage for everyday. And when I want to add coverage, I prefer getting it from my concealer. I have lots of freckles and I feel like lighter coverage foundation blends more seamlessly with the rest of my body. However, if I’m going full glam I like a little more coverage to define my eye and lip areas. I hate foundations that feel heavy, and flashback isn’t a concern for me so bring on the spf.
Everyday Formula: Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream
This one has so many skin benefits and spf. It provides nice coverage and a natural finish. I love that it doesn’t feel heavy or itchy like some other high spf cc formulas I’ve tried. I like to apply this one with my hands. The squeeze tube packaging is nice, and I already have a backup.
No makeup makeup: Mac Face and Body
So this product provides zero coverage. It’s the most unique formula I’ve used. It’s super liquidy, but when I apply it with my hands it seems to gain a thicker consistency. It’s great for evening out tone and helping look alive, but it won’t cover imperfections. It’s a nice, very natural look. The way I use this the most, though, is as a mixer. It’s amazing at sheering out matte or fuller coverage products. It’s also got a squeeze tube.
I bought this product after seeing it applied on Jojo Fletcher. It looked so glowy and fresh, two things I’m going for. It’s not heavy feeling, but provides buildable coverage. It’s very watery. I apply this one with a brush. The only downside to this foundation is the packaging. It has a dropper and can get really messy.
I usually stay far away from any formula with “matte” in the name, but I’m glad I tried this one. This is the foundation I go for when I want my makeup to last and look flawless. It’s the heaviest coverage I’ve found that I actually like. It’s got a peach scent. My favorite way to apply this is with a brush, and I love how it looks mixed with Face and Body. The packaging is my favorite because it has a pump and squeeze tube.
It’s taken so many trials and errors, but I’m really happy with this lineup. I haven’t been tempted to buy another foundation in awhile. Let me know what your favorite foundations are!
