Hooray for my first pan of 2020! I scraped this baby clean. This product has been a lifesaver for me. I like bright but not too light under eyes, and this corrector helps me achieve that look.
Before purchasing this, I tried to get bright under eyes by using a light concealer, but I found my under eyes would just look patchy and my makeup just kind of sat on top of my skin. Not a cute look.
This salmon color works to correct the blue in dark circles. If you are new to color correcting, think of the color wheel. Blue and orange compliment each other, so that means they will neutralize each other. That’s why you’ll see green concealers for blemishes; they neutralize the red.
To be honest, this is the first under eye corrector I’ve ever used. I don’t have any reason to test out others. I like that the focus seems to be more on reflection rather than coverage. I usually look for more luminous rather than full coverage foundations because I think they are more flattering on my skin. I like to utilize light rather than pigment to disguise imperfections.I also don’t feel like I have to use heavy products to correct this corrector. It works nicely with my concealer.
I like to tap this on with a big ecotools eye brush and then pat in with my fingertips. I use the brush so I’m not dipping my hands into the jar, and I like to press it in with my fingers so the warmth melts the product in.
The only thing I could see being a potential issue for someone is how emollient this formula is. It is super creamy. If you have oily skin, you might find it works better with matte foundations or setting powder. I don’t set my face very often and don’t have problems with smudging.I use the Thrive Causemetics mascara on my lower lashline, and that stuff does not move. I also don’t stress too much about creasing under my eyes.
I’m glad I had a backup because I haven’t gone a day without this magic since purchasing it.
