I love to add seasonal pops into my makeup routine. I don’t do an entire overhaul of beauty items, but I like to bring in some products to change up my look. Here are some ways I change my routine for fall.
#1 Nail Polish
I love using seasonal inspired tones on my nails. This summer I wore a lot of baby blue because it made me think of the sky and the pool. For fall I’m really feeling a turning leaf color story. Here are some of favorite fall polishes. They are all from OPI.
From left to right:
Malaga Wine- A perfect deep red with a really glossy shine.
My Solar Clock is Ticking- A burnt terracotta with quite a bit of pink. This shade is so unique, and I wore it a lot last fall.
Ice-Bergers and Fries- I love this neutral all year round but especially in the fall.
Things I’ve Seen in Aber-green- I just purchased this, but I love it. It’s a neutral green and so pretty.
Red Heads Ahead- I fell in love with color and its name (I have two babies with red hair). It’s the perfect school spirit red.
#2 Scented Hand Lotions
Scent is really important to me. I like having hand lotions for the different seasons since memories are closely tied to smells. Hand lotions are also usually more affordable to change than perfume, and my hands get drier the closer we are to winter. This Pumpkin Cupcake scent is from last year, but this one is similar.
#3 Lip Color
In the summer I prefer light and glossy formulas. In the fall I like something with a little more pigment. I gravitate towards nudes and browns, but red and orange have really captivated me, too.
From top to bottom:
Sephora #Lipstories in Yum Yum- A nice milk chocolate brown. I usually don’t care for the feel of cardboard packaging, but this one is smooth and so adorable. The formula is really comfortable.
Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint in High End Coral- This is a really pretty orange shade. It reminds me so much of the OPI polish. This formula has a vanilla scent and I like the feel. The only con is the size of the cushion applicator; I have to be really careful while applying.
L’oreal Colour Riche Shine in Glossy Fawn- You may have heard me rave about this already (it’s a carry over from the summer). It’s pretty and shiny. I find this goes with almost any makeup look, too.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Do Me Baby- This is the vampy-ist color I’ve worn on a regular basis. It’s bold enough to make a statement, but I still feel like I can wear it during the day. It also has the most lasting power and is the easiest to apply.
Summertime blush for me is glowy and orangey or coral. When fall comes around and I use less self tanner and see less sun, I switch to more cool toned looks. I like to start transitioning from sunkissed to cold bitten.
NARS Dolce Vita- This one is a pretty, cool toned blush. I like the added shimmer. You can tell it’s seen a lot of love.
